Volleyball Ministry Serves Community Through “Play for a Cause” Outreach

June 6, 2026

Faith Baptist Church–South Metro rejoices in the continued growth and impact of its Volleyball Ministry, a ministry that is not only bringing people together through sports but also demonstrating Christ’s love through acts of compassion and service.

On June 6, 2026, the Volleyball Ministry recorded an impressive attendance of 54 participants, reflecting the enthusiasm and support for this growing outreach. Under the leadership of Sir Don Ruiz, the ministry continues to attract individuals from the community while fostering fellowship, teamwork, and Christian values.

One of the highlights of the ministry was the successful “Play for a Cause” One-Day Volleyball League, which brought together players and supporters for a meaningful purpose. Through the generosity of participants and donors, various goods and relief items were collected during the event.

Following the league, the Volleyball Ministry turned over the donated goods to a local evacuation center to assist families affected by the recent fire in the area. This simple act of kindness became a powerful reminder that ministry extends beyond the church walls and into the lives of those who are hurting and in need.

It was a blessing to witness how a sporting event became an opportunity to serve others. The willingness of players, volunteers, and supporters to rally together for a worthy cause demonstrated the heart of Christian service in action.

The Volleyball Ministry continues to grow not only in attendance but also in its desire to make a difference in the community. Through sports, relationships are built, lives are touched, and opportunities are created to share God’s love in practical ways.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Sir Don Ruiz, the players, volunteers, donors, and everyone who participated in making the “Play for a Cause” event a success. Your generosity and compassion have brought encouragement to families facing difficult circumstances.

As the ministry continues to expand, we pray that God will use it to reach more people, strengthen friendships, and provide even more opportunities to serve the community.

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 (KJV)

What a blessing it is to see lives being touched through sports ministry and to witness God’s people coming together to help those in need.

To God be all the glory! 🏐❤️🙏
