Freedom Sunday 2026: True Freedom Found in Christ
June 14, 2026 | Faith Baptist Church South Metro
Faith Baptist Church South Metro joyfully celebrated its 36th Freedom Sunday on June 14, 2026, a special annual service dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who have sacrificed and served for the freedom of our nation in connection with the celebration of Philippine Independence Day.
The Lord blessed the service with an attendance of 258 adults and 49 children, bringing together members, guests, and visitors for a memorable morning of worship, gratitude, and Gospel proclamation.

A special highlight of this year’s Freedom Sunday was the testimony of Major Jerome Jacube, whose life powerfully reflects God’s grace and faithfulness.
As a casualty of war, Major Jacube lost both of his eyesight while serving our country. Yet what could have been a story of defeat became a testimony of God’s victory. Rather than allowing blindness to define his future, he chose to trust God’s purpose for his life.
Today, Major Jacube continues to serve faithfully as a loving husband, a devoted father, and a ministry partner to wounded soldiers and military personnel. Through his work and personal testimony, he points many to the hope found in Jesus Christ.
During his message, he shared how losing his physical sight enabled him to see God’s plan more clearly than ever before. His testimony challenged the congregation with a simple but powerful truth: “Don’t quit. Keep trusting God’s plan.”
He reminded us that circumstances do not determine our usefulness to God. If a man who lost both of his eyes can continue serving the Lord, encouraging others, and winning souls for Christ, then every believer can remain faithful through the strength that God provides.
Most importantly, the Gospel was clearly presented, and God worked in many hearts. During the invitation, approximately 30 visitors made professions of faith and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. We rejoice in these decisions and look forward to seeing these new believers grow in their walk with the Lord through discipleship and fellowship.
Freedom Sunday reminds us that while we are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy as a nation, there is a greater freedom available to every person—the freedom that comes through salvation in Jesus Christ.
We thank the Lord for every volunteer, ministry worker, musician, usher, teacher, soulwinner, and church member who helped make this special day possible. Their faithful service contributed to a Christ-honoring event that encouraged believers, honored our nation’s heroes, and proclaimed the life-changing message of the Gospel.
A Message of Appreciation from Pastor Pol Camacho
“On behalf of Faith Baptist Church South Metro, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make our 36th Freedom Sunday a blessed and successful event.
Thank you to our ministry leaders, volunteers, musicians, ushers, teachers, soulwinners, hospitality team, and every church member who labored behind the scenes. Your willingness to serve reflects the love of Christ and the spirit of unity that strengthens our church family.
We are especially thankful to Major Jerome Jacube for sharing his powerful testimony of faith, perseverance, and God’s sustaining grace. His life is a vivid reminder that God’s purpose is greater than our circumstances and that no obstacle is too great for the Lord to overcome.
Most of all, we praise God for the souls who trusted Christ as Savior during the service. There is no greater joy than seeing lives transformed by the Gospel. We ask our church family to continue praying for these new believers as they begin their journey of faith.
Thank you once again for your prayers, support, sacrifice, and faithful service. May we continue to work together to reach souls, strengthen families, and glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.
To God be all the glory.”

As we reflect on this year’s Freedom Sunday, we are reminded of the words of our Lord in John 8:36:
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (KJV)
To God be all the glory for what He has done through Faith Baptist Church South Metro’s 36th Freedom Sunday.
